#PoetryLovers: Winter

For all those that are feeling the cold like I am, this poem is dedicated to you. Wrap Up!!

Winter

The bitter breeze bites me,

Fights me as I head to my destination,

Slip and slide I try to balance myself as I wrap up to maintain my health,

Refreshing,

Just like it’s a blessing to wake up every morning,

Yawning I overhear moaning about taking on the day,

Step outside to see children play and you think how could they?

Before you remember the days you were young and couldn’t give a damn about the weather,

And then the snow starts to fall and all hell breaks loose,

Cities come to a standstill,

Sledges are perched on the hill ready to make the most of the madness,

While work goers experience major distress,

Kids couldn’t care less because schools are closed and you know what that means,

Yet when the ice creeps in we all get angry,

An inconvenience that graces us with its presence every year,

But what more can you say other than winter is here?
