#PoetryLovers: Up’s and Down’s

I caught it shouldn’t have caught shit,

Let my guard slip which allowed it to catch me,

Same mistake twice, three times like the endless cries didn’t teach me,

Teach me that feelings defeat me,

My own fault I let you in open arms,

Ignoring alarms of the past,

The memories of the last,

You brought me up left me speechless,

Had me questioning whether I found the realist,

Can you believe this?

The mutual interests, the flattery the nicest,

Left me debating my own mindset,

Unlocked the sacred door to show affection more and I started falling,

Hit the ground face first knowing my actions were appalling,

To drop the ball and fall for the same thing,

You let me get lifted then left drifting wondering how someone drowns in a puddle,

A puddle so deep as the hurt begins to creep,

Seep through my aura,

Taking it out on the world around me when my own stupidity led me to be this persona,

I sought isolation as the best solution to avoid devastation,

Let my words flow as the best form of meditation,

Dancing with the clouds making clouds of stress fade before my eyes,

In my mind I go over the continuous lies being fed to me.
